Forgot Password
Please go to http://vlo-ws.pti-intl.com:8080/vlo/ and click on "Forgot Password". If that does not work, please email support@simulearn.net with the vlp file located in the c:\program files\virtual leader\users folder. The vlp file is named after the login you used when you created your profile in Virtual Leader. A support team member will locate the password and email it back to you.
Left and Right Arrows Don't Work
You can use the left and right click on your mouse: the left click will go to the previous screen, and the right click to the next screen. Double click will be like that space bar, and goes to back to the menu. Do not single click repetitively too fast, as the system my see it as a double click.
Virtual Leader Does Not Install
Insert the VL CD-ROM in the drive. You can exit from the Virtual Leader installation application. From the My Computer icon located on your desktop, right click your CD-ROM drive (usually D: drive) and select open and go to the folder called Program. Double click on the file called vlinstall.exe.
SL Dryad Error
1 - From the START menu, select RUN (see DXDiag Run Menu Screen.jpg enclosed).
2 - Type DXDIAG and click on OK (see DXDiag Run Command Screen.jpg).
3 - You will have a screen that looks like the one enclosed (DXDiag System Screen.jpg). Please make sure that you have at least DirectX 8.1. If not, you will need to install the version of DirectX that is included in the Virtual Leader CD-ROM (under the Support menu - Install DirectX).
4 - Click on the DISPLAY tab (see DXDiag Display Screen.jpg) and make sure that you have at least 16 MB in the Approx. Tot Memory. If you have less, that is the most likely source of your problem. If you have a desktop with less than 16 MB, you can purchase a new video graphic card for about $25.
5 - If you have at least 16 MB and DirectX 8.1 or above, please email me the information highlighted in green in the DXDiag Display Screen.jpg, as well as the computer make, total memory (from the System tab). Best if you can do a screen shot of both your Display and System tab, that would help greatly. To do that, press the ALT and the Print Screen keys together from your keyboard, and paste into a word document by pressing Ctrl and V keys together (or by right clicking your mouse and selecting paste).
Virtual Leader has generated an Error Message
To do that go to your C: drive (or to the drive where Virtual Leader was installed) -- you can access the C: from the My Computer icon located on your desktop. 1 - double click on your C: drive, 2 - double click on the folder called Program Files, 3 - double click on the folder called Virtual Leader,4 - double click on Virtual Leader (Do not click on Launch Virtual Leader).
Cannot access Applying the Principles
1- Go to C:\Program Files\Virtual Leader\Data folder2 - If you have 3 AI folders (AI, AI_BC, AI_ORIGINAL), delete the AI, RESULTS and FRONTEND folders 3 - Rename:
AI_BC to AI
Results-bc to Results
Frontend_bc to Frontend
Can Virtual Leader be used on an Apple computer?
Unfortunately, Virtual Leader works only in a Windows environment. Only the new Apple Intel computers will support Virtual Leader. I am sorry we don't have another solution for the Apple computers users.
Trouble accessing the VL Orientation Video, Workbook and other support materials
Insert the VL CD-ROM in the drive. You can exit from the installation application. From the My Computer icon located on your desktop, right click your CD-ROM drive (usually D: drive) and select open and go to the folder called Virtual Leader Library and then Pre-Work Folder. The primer is called VL Primer.pdf.
Data\Sounds\will_tran2484.wav: Error performing inpage operation
If during the installation you get the error such as Error performing inpage operation (as written above), your CD-ROM drive is either dusty or the CD-ROM is damaged. Accessing / Printing ScoresYou can view, print and email your scores without going online by clicking on the Print button from the Virtual Leader login window. It will launch your default internet browser (usually Internet Explorer). >From the File menu, you can select, Print, Email or Save as. Alternatively to the OnLine button, you can also access your scores online by going to http://vlo-ws.pti-intl.com:8080/vlo/><http://vlo-ws.pti-intl.com:8080/vlo/ and use the login you type when you created the account the first time you used Virtual Leader. Please note that the log in information is case sensitive. The database will populate itself as you run Virtual Leader while being online. Please note, that if you were off-line while running Virtual Leader, you results will not be reflected until you run Virtual Leader while being online. If you do not see your scores online, please contact us. Usually, a firewall may be blocking the scores from being sent.
